- Configurable via "Auto Reload Mask" checkbox
- Small delay to ensure file is fully written
### Technology Stack
- **.NET 9.0**: Latest .NET runtime
- **Avalonia UI 11.3**: Cross-platform XAML framework
- **CommunityToolkit.Mvvm 8.2**: MVVM helpers
- **SkiaSharp 2.88.9**: 2D graphics rendering
- **System.Drawing**: Currently used for compatibility (will be replaced)
### Dependencies
#### Internal (Planned)
- GerberLibrary - Gerber file export
- TINRS-ArtWork (TilingLibrary) - Core tiling algorithms
#### External
- Avalonia and related packages
- SkiaSharp for rendering
- GlmNet for vector math (via TilingLibrary)
## Current Status
### ✅ Completed
- [x] Project structure created
- [x] Avalonia UI framework configured
- [x] MVVM architecture implemented
- [x] Models created (TilerSettings, RenderProgressInfo)
- [x] Services created (RenderService)
- [x] ViewModels created (MainViewModel)
- [x] Views created (MainWindow with comprehensive UI)
- [x] Background rendering infrastructure
- [x] Progress reporting system
- [x] Debouncing mechanism
- [x] File watching capability
- [x] Default mask generation
- [x] Documentation (README, MIGRATION_PLAN)
### ⚠️ Blocked - Requires Library Migration
- [ ] Build successfully (blocked by .NET Framework dependencies)
- [ ] Run application
- [ ] Test rendering
- [ ] Implement file dialogs
- [ ] Implement export functionality
### 🔄 Next Steps Required
The project cannot build currently because:
1. **GerberLibrary** is .NET Framework 4.8 (Windows-only)
2. **TilingLibrary** is .NET Framework 4.8 (Windows-only)
3. Building on macOS requires .NET 9 or .NET Standard libraries
**See MIGRATION_PLAN.md for detailed migration strategy.**
## Code Quality
### Design Patterns Used
- **MVVM**: Model-View-ViewModel separation
- **Command Pattern**: All user actions as commands
- **Observer Pattern**: Property change notifications
- **Service Pattern**: RenderService for business logic
- **Repository Pattern**: Settings management
### Best Practices
- ✅ Nullable reference types enabled
- ✅ Async/await throughout
- ✅ Proper resource disposal (IDisposable)
- ✅ Thread-safe rendering
- ✅ Progress reporting
- ✅ Cancellation token support
- ✅ Debouncing for performance
- ✅ Comprehensive XML documentation
## Differences from Original
### Improvements Over TINRS-ArtWorkGenerator
| Feature | Original | TiNRS-Tiler |
|---------|----------|-------------|
| **Platform** | Windows only (WinForms) | Cross-platform (Avalonia) |
| **UI Framework** | Windows Forms | Avalonia UI (modern XAML) |
| **Architecture** | Code-behind heavy | Clean MVVM |
| **Threading** | UI thread blocking | Background rendering |
| **Progress** | Title bar only | Progress bar + stage + cancel |
| **Cancellation** | Not supported | Full cancellation support |
| **Debouncing** | 100ms timer | 100ms timer (same) |
| **File Watching** | FileSystemWatcher | FileSystemWatcher (same) |
| **Graphics** | System.Drawing | SkiaSharp (planned) |
| **Code Style** | .NET Framework 4.8 | Modern C# 12 |
