; Boot section layout (keep in sync with firmware/src/shared/bootloader_protocol.h)
;
;   BOOTEND = 0x06  ->  boot section = 0x06 * 256 = 0x600 bytes
; The application is linked to start at 0x600 and runs after the bootloader.
; Sized to the measured bootloader (1304 bytes); the app needs everything else,
; and no longer links at 0x07. Changing the split means changing BL_BOOTEND in
; bootloader_protocol.h, board_build.text_section_start and the --bootend fuse
; value below, and FLASH_START in firmware/tools/export_app_image.py and
; production_tools/programAndTest/tools/generate_app_image.py -- all together.

; Application, built to run at the post-boot offset (0x600), for use WITH the
; I2C bootloader. This is both the day-to-day dev-iteration build (re-flash the
; app over UPDI without disturbing the installed bootloader) and the source of
; the application image that the host streams over I2C.
;
;  - USING_OPTIBOOT: skips megaTinyCore's .init3 reset-flag handling (which
; would otherwise force a software reset when the bootloader jumps in with
; the reset flags already cleared) and leaves IVSEL at its reset default so
; the interrupt vectors resolve at the application section start.
; - --section-start=.text=0x600: link .text (and the vector table) at 0x600.
;
; Upload does NOT chip-erase and does NOT touch fuses, so an already-installed
; bootloader and its BOOTEND/APPEND fuses are preserved.
