"description": "Fast Rust-accelerated A* autorouter for KiCad PCBs.",
"description_full": "KiCad Routing Tools is a fast, grid-based A* autorouter for KiCad PCB files, accelerated with a native Rust core (~10x faster than pure Python).\n\nFeatures:\n- Octilinear routing on multiple copper layers with automatic via insertion\n- Differential pair routing with pose-based A* and orientation-aware setbacks\n- Rip-up and reroute with blocking analysis when routes fail\n- BGA / QFN fanout, GND-via placement for return paths, polarity swap detection\n- Net ordering strategies (MPS, inside-out, original) with crossing-conflict layer swaps\n- Board-edge and BGA exclusion-zone clearance, plus stub / BGA / track proximity penalties\n- Plane routing and disconnected-plane stitching\n- Schematic synchronization when target pads are swapped\n\nIntegrates with the KiCad PCB Editor as an Action Plugin (Tools > External Plugins). Also usable from the command line for scripting and CI.\n\nThe package bundles prebuilt Rust binaries for Linux x86_64, macOS arm64 (Apple Silicon) + x86_64 (Intel), and Windows x86_64; a small startup resolver picks the right binary for the running platform.\n\nFirst launch checks the Python packages KiCad does not ship (numpy, scipy, shapely) and offers to install or upgrade them into KiCad's Python. KiCad bundles wxPython; what else it bundles varies by version and platform (KiCad 10 on macOS ships no numpy at all), so the check reads the version the running interpreter actually imports rather than assuming.",
